As part of the Northland business community, we like to follow and support what is happening locally that affects our economy and the growth and potential of our region. Many of you will be aware of the new Quest Apartments development on the corner of Bank and Cameron Streets in Whangarei.
The $9.5 million project consists of a three-storey serviced apartment building with five shops on the ground floor and a carpark basement. Work has now started at the site, and expected to be completed towards the end of 2014.
The 34 studio, one-bed and two-bed rooms in the 1900sq m accommodation section of the building will be operated by the Quest Serviced Apartments franchise. Quest has more than 150 hotel apartments in New Zealand, Fiji and Australia.
An estimated 37,000 people pass the development’s location daily. The five shops, covering a total of 1500sq m, are expected to attract food retail tenants.
